From Kiev with love.

Our developers from the Ukraine have landed in Amsterdam! It is a fantastic step forward to now have the team all under one roof. Get inspired together, laugh together and make something happen together!

They are having the time of their lives here in Amsterdam. It’s their very first time visiting Europe and what better place to start than in the lovely city of Amsterdam, also known as Appsterdam. “If you want to make movies, go to Hollywood. If you want to make musicals, go to Broadway. If you want to make apps, come to Appsterdam!” 

The Netherlands and Amsterdam in particular are an amazing melting pot of different cultures, languages, and people. In our small shared office alone there are 15 different nationalities and in our team there are 8 different cultures from 6 countries speaking one language and getting things done together.

Great to have them visiting! They are with us for 10 days and we will update on what we get up to together.

Meet Dylan, our COO

For a little while now we have strengthened our team with Dylan Evans. He has an affinity with designing user experiences based on research, user feedback and common sense. At SellanApp he is focusing on getting the operations straight. Of course this is the formal title we gave him, he’s doing a lot of challenging stuff. Some practices: 

  • Getting in touch with developers for our developers pool, 
  • improving the general Interaction Design of our iPad app + web platform
  • Creating a clear path for our Developers in the Ukraine and France. 

We really enjoy working with him and he is a real asset to the team. He is complementing both Aernoud and me in knowledge, insights and culture. There is a clear overlap in design, technical knowledge and practical intelligence between the team members and  within our whole team now. 

Dylan comes from Wales and he has now lived in The Netherlands for 3 years. He is a native English and Welsh speaker - he makes us speak English all day, thankfully not Welsh! Aernoud and I enjoy going to Meetups to meet new interesting people. Luckily Dylan has the same habit and that is how we met him at the Hackers & Founders Meetup.. 

He spent some time working for a big clients in the USA and the UK and within start-ups. His work has revolved around moving businesses and concepts from a hunch to a product or service or operation. For more info you can see his impressive resumé on his website.

When he’s not working for SellanApp,he likes to run marathons, play the violin, listen to experimental music and much more.
