As you might have noticed, we recently launched our own equity crowd-funding campaign simultaneously on both Symbid.com and FundedByMe.com to improve and grow our service.

We are thrilled to report that already we have engaged in promising talks with (inter)national investors, and we hope that they will soon show up on one these platforms.

Last week, for the first time, revenues where paid out to backers. Also we are ready to pay dividend to backers who have become share-holders of our company after our first equity crowd funding campaign on Symbid, making it the first time that backers see a return of investment!

All this shows the success of SellanApp and crowd-funding in general. We hear a lot of buzz surrounding the subject nowadays, but based on the worldwide response we receive, we think it’s cool to say that SellanApp offers the best way of crowd-funding apps in the world.

Our team has tons of ideas to improve our service and to effectively create a whole new way of bringing apps to live. This by making it easy for everyone to have their own app in the app store, to promote it effectively and to generate return of investment for both themselves as the community of people pledging on their app ideas. As a first ‘glimpse’ of things to come, recently we introduced a new home and supporting pages. We hope you like them!

Acts not ads

Don’t you like being around people with an urge to do what they love? Following their passion? They have this idea in mind and are doing everything they can to make it a success. Moving heaven and earth. That is genuine entrepreneurship I guess. I  believe that that is the only way you can convince and motivate other people to start a journey with you. The road to a great product, service or event. 

Companies should act on the same base when building their brand and community. Their goal should be to start motivating people for the cause of why they exist, instead of just making a profit by selling products. Make a change and people will remember you by what you did.

A firm believer of this idea is Polle de Maagt. His urge of world domination consist of convincing companies to be more about acts than ads. “Because in these times, brands aren’t defined by what they say, but what they do.” he declares. 

His believes are pretty infectious and that’s why he has big companies like KLM and Nike to working with him. I love his way of thinking.

With SellanApp there are a lot of opportunities for companies to ignite authenticity for their brands. I’ll try to clarify. People without resources or skills to build apps themselves often have great app ideas. At SellanApp, we call them producers. SellanApp offers them the possibility to fully design and fund these ideas. And herein lies an opportunity for businesses.

As a company you can become an investor in the apps of Producers, and receive a share in the revenue plus additional benefits. You could fund the app and invest in apps that distinguish you as a company. For example an internet skateboard shop or manufacturer could invest in a skateboard app. I think investments could be money, but also content and time. You can bring that in front of your marketing as a sponsor or-partnership. So your investment is well spend because you even share the success of the app.

The additional benefits that you receive are part of the ‘bigger plan’ of the app producer. They can offer partnership to support the apps cause. For example, your company has useful content and/or knowledge that is worthy for an app. Another example is that you can spread the word and make the app a success together. On Kickstarter.com you have great examples how producers of good ideas make rewards for companies and people.

As a partner of an app Producer, you can help bring their idea to life, you can publish and spread the app and by that brand your business when the app becomes successful. Making great ideas happen is what I think a great way to grow your brand within the right target groups. The SellanApp platform gives you the chance to communicate with these entrepreneurs (producers) and the supporting community.
